Peridot, Arizona

Alijah Jay Boni, born on September 14, 1990, in Safford, Arizona, peacefully passed away on March 9, 2026, in Peridot, Arizona. With a life marked by dedication and diverse talents, Alijah’s presence touched many within his community and family.

A proud graduate of San Carlos High School class of 2009, Alijah furthered his technical skills by completing his education at SCTI. His career journey exemplified his commitment to hard work and his adept technical abilities. He contributed his expertise at the Apache Gold Casino as a Slot Technician and served as an Electrical Apprentice at Safford Mine, roles he embraced with great pride and professionalism.

Alijah was not only known for his vocational skills but also for his rich artistic spirit and varied interests. He was an avid artist with a passion for drawing, a lover of the outdoors who enjoyed fishing, and a devoted player of video games. Additionally, his musical talents shone through with his skillful guitar playing. These pursuits were more than hobbies—they were expressions of his creative and joyful soul.

He is survived by a loving family who cherished him dearly. His father, Johnson Boni Jr., stands as a strong pillar, alongside his three brothers—Michael Pechuli (Martha), Arlo Pechuli Jr. (Monique), and Fats —and his sister Averee Polk. Alijah’s legacy continues through his three beloved sons, Jason Boni, Edgar Lee Boni, and Liam Boni. He also leaves behind his parents Arlo and Deborah Pechuli, in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins, and devoted friends who will carry his memory forward.

Alijah’s journey was also shaped by those who preceded him in passing. He was the son of the late Ernestine Polk, and grandchild of Johnson Boni Sr. (fondly known as Tony Boy) and Lillian Polk Burnette. Their memories remain cherished and form a part of the enduring foundation of his life.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were graced by Alijah are invited to honor his memory and celebrate his unique contributions.  The Wake will take place at Pechuli's Residence in Peridot, Arizona, on March 15, 2026, at 5:00 pm for a time of remembrance and fellowship. The formal funeral service will be held on March 16, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 385 San Carlos Avenue, San Carlos, Arizona, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM and burial to conclude at Morman Hill cemetery.

Alijah Jay Boni’s life was a testament to perseverance, creativity, and deep family love. Though his departure leaves a profound void, his spirit endures warmly in the hearts of all who knew him.
