Bernardo " Benny" Morales

May 20, 1944 — February 15, 2026

Miami, Arizona

Bernardo “Benny” Morales, a devoted father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Globe-Miami community, passed away peacefully at his home in Claypool, Arizona, on February 15, 2026, at the age of 81.

For more than 40 years, Globe-Miami was not simply where he lived — it was home. He was a familiar and trusted presence, known for his positivity, unwavering work ethic, and readiness to lend a hand to anyone in need. An avid horticulturist, Benny could talk for hours about plants, soil, and whatever he was planning to grow next. If you got him started on gardening, you’d best have time to spare.

Above all else, he was a family man. His hands were strong and skilled, always building, his heart tender and kind, always open. He loved learning, creating, gardening, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family — sharing knowledge, offering encouragement, and retelling stories from years gone by. He lived by the mantra, “Love what you do, and do what you love,”

He was the last of his living siblings and of his generation — a steady presence and a living bridge to his family’s history. He will be greatly missed, not only for what he did, but for who he was — a man of integrity, warmth, and enduring love.

Benny is survived by his six children: Tony Cruz; Jerry Cruz and his wife, Anna Cruz; Belinda Mendoza and her husband, George Mendoza; Bernardo Morales Jr. and his wife, Virginia Morales; Perlina Snitzel Morales; and Sonya Morales.

He also leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of 37 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Much like the gardens he lovingly tended, the roots of his legacy will continue to grow in each and every person who had the privilege of sharing this lifetime with him. His absence will be deeply felt, but the seeds he planted of love, inner strength, and self-growth — will flourish for generations to come.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at 4:00pm at the home of his son, Bernardo Morales Jr., 800 s. Tenth Street, Globe, Arizona.

This will be a simple and heartfelt time together, sharing stories, enjoying food, and honoring the love and gratitude we hold for his life and for another. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us.
