William A "Bill" Bennett

November 22, 1938 — February 10, 2026

With great appreciation for a life well-lived, we celebrate the life of William A. "Bill" Bennett, who passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on November 22, 1938, at Miami Inspiration Hospital in Miami, Arizona, Bill was the cherished son of H.A. "Fat" and Rosamond Bennett. He blazed a trail of accomplishments, leaving a legacy of love and dedication for his family and community.

After graduating from Globe High School, Bill pursued his passion for engineering at the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. In 1972, he made significant contributions as the project manager responsible for reopening the Pinto Valley and SX-EW plants, illustrating his commitment to progress and innovation.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His service was marked by honor and dedication, reflecting the values he held throughout his life.

A man of many passions, Bill found joy in hunting and fishing, particularly relishing the moments spent deep-sea fishing off the coast of Baja California with his beloved son, Clark. He was an active member of the Cobre Valley Country Club and was a proud member of the Globe Hall of Fame.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Bethel Bennett; his son Clark (Sara) Bennett; his cherished grandchildren Oliver and Eleanor Bennett; his sister LuAnn Bennett; and his niece Meredith and nephew Andrew Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robin Bennett.

Services for Bill will be held privately, though we invite all to share their condolences and well wishes for the family here.
