Carl S. Lopez, 75, of Globe, Arizona entered the Gates of Heaven on March 23rd, 2026, at the Cobre Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Carl was born on November 27,1950 at the home of his parents Carl Lopez and Lola Montoya in Globe, Arizona.
He attended Globe High School and was a 1970 graduate. He later worked for the local copper mines, which included Inspiration Copper, Phelps Dodge, and Cyprus and retired with 31 years.
Carl achieved a lot in his life and had a lot of recognition. He was the past president for the Globe Lions club, Globe Lions Club Sight and Hearing Committee doing eye screenings at the Health Fair at the hospital and several of the schools, Globe Lions Booth at the Gila County Fair and Horse Races, honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow, Co-Citizen of the Year with his wife Linda, Board Member of the Gila County Historical Museum, also a docent at the Gila County Museum on Thursdays and Saturdays, worked the monthly Hamburger Fries during the summer for the Gila County Historical Museum, and past board member of the Globe-Miami Community Concert Committee, and Past Board Member of the Globe High School Alumni Association. He drove several years for the Globe Home Tour sponsored by the Globe Chamber of Commerce. He also drove his Polaris for several years in the Globe Light Parade.
He was always willing to help people. He would do yard work for the local residents and many without charge.
He loved to play the drums. He taught himself to play. He even gave some drum lessons to his grandson, Robert and to others. He played with many local bands such as Sipie Martinez, Neto Vasquez, George Flores and others. He also played several times with a band for the residents of Haven. He loved bowling on the local Men's League and the Mixed League with his wife Linda. He loved to go camping and go on group rides with his Polaris with friends and with his family.
Carl is survived by his wife at 35 years Linda, his two sons Stephen and Ryan, two step-sons Johnny and Bobby Holmes who love him dearly, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is proceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his five sisters. He is the last member of his immediate Lopez family.
A private service will be held at a later date.
