Donna Jean Smith, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, faithful servant of Christ, and cherished friend, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 22nd, at the age of 78. Her life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, perseverance, and grace.
Donna was the beloved wife of Kenneth “Kenny” Smith. Together they shared a loving marriage grounded in faith and devotion. Kenny took extraordinary and tender care of Donna for many years following her diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, embodying the vows he made and the love they shared. Their bond was a powerful example of selfless love, strength, and commitment.
A lifelong Christian, Donna found great joy in worship and music. She loved to sing and was an active member of her church choir, using her voice to praise God and uplift others. Her faith sustained her through life’s challenges, and she was a quiet witness to God’s grace through her kindness, humility, and steadfast spirit.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Smith; her sons, Brian Smith and his wife Jodi, and Kevin Smith and his wife Michelle; and her cherished grandchildren: Breanna Ratliff and Tyler Smith, children of Brian and Jodi, and Lacie Smith and Miranda Embery, children of Kevin. She was deeply proud of her family and found great joy in time spent with them.
She is also survived by her brother, Richard Collins, and Kenny’s brother, Keith Dillon, and his wife Hazel Dillon, who were incredibly close to Kenny and Donna. Keith and Hazel were always there to support and assist Kenny in caring for Donna, offering constant love, help, and companionship throughout the years.
Donna’s life was one of faith, service, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now healed, at peace, and singing praises in Heaven.
