Starts at 11:00 am (Mountain time)
Edward Lester Alexander, 73, of Globe, Arizona, passed away at home on May 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ed was born on February 4, 1953, in Brawley, California, to Harold and Wanda Alexander. He was a proud Miami Vandal and graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1971 while working at Bud’s Chevron station in Miami. Shortly after graduation, he began working for Inspiration Copper Company.
In 1972, Ed married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Debbie Sanson, and together they built a beautiful life and home in Globe, Arizona.
Ed proudly served for six years in the Army National Guard. During that time, he completed an electrical apprenticeship at the mines and became an electrician. He later joined Arizona Public Service, where he worked as a Journeyman lineman and later as a Troubleman. Never one to stop learning, Ed also attended Eastern Arizona College and earned his bachelor’s degree in business while working full time and raising a family.
Ed and Debbie raised four children and created a home centered on faith, hard work, and love. Ed was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he faithfully served as Bishop of the Globe 2nd Ward for six years. He was also deeply involved with Boy Scouts of America Troop 883 and enjoyed mentoring and serving the youth in his community.
Ed loved camping, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. Ed never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Debbie; his four children: Mark (Kendra), Kim (Scott), Scott (Anneliesa), and Kaley (Ryan); and his eleven grandchildren: Daija, Dalynn, Harvey, Ellie, Amelie, Ty, Addie, Kade, Ellarie, Briggs, and Grant. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
A memorial service honoring Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
