Ida Mae Padilla January 15, 1936 - August 27, 2026

Ida Mae Padilla died on August 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is proceeded by her husband of 72 years, Edward Soliz Padilla, her parents, Ralph and Roxie Castaneda, sisters, Alice Hernandez and Margaret Williams and brothers Randy and Richard.

Ida was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her 3 children, Becky, Rick and John, along with their spouses, Elaine, Donna and Sue. Five grandchildren, Sara, Nathan, Kailey, Ashley and Madison and 2 great-grandchildren, Calvin and Syrus. She is also survived by her sisters, Edith Barajas, Patty Irvin and Bernice Riggins, brothers, Ralph, Robert, Ronnie and Rex.

Ida worked for the City of Globe as a clerk in the water department. After 20 years of service, she retired in 1993. She was a loyal TOPS member for many years and valued the relationships she had made with her TOPS family.

Ida was known as a close, dear friend to a small circle of friends, some that were from her childhood and they had remained close to this day. She enjoyed hosting luncheons, going out shopping with friends and she felt blessed to have them in her life.

Ida was a talented artist and won many awards in local fairs and art exhibits. She attended art classes at the Gila County Community College to further enhance her artistic abilities, and she thrived at many forms of art. Pottery, stippling, pastels and painting; acrylic, watercolors and mostly oil.

Edward and Ida enjoyed many years of travel, spending time in the White Mountains and she enjoyed cooking, as that was her love language. She cherished celebrating holidays and birthdays with her growing family.

Ida will be remembered for her unfaltering, unconditional love. She valued her friends and family, and our lives were richer because of her. As per her wishes, there will not be a public service. Burial of ashes and celebration of life will be private. Thank you for your support and understanding.
