James Phillip Antonio, a devoted family man, talented musician, and faithful member of his community, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona. Born on July 6, 1954, in San Carlos, Arizona, James lived a life marked by dedication to his faith, family, and passions.
James received his early education at San Carlos Elementary before attending Globe High School. Throughout his life, he nurtured a variety of interests that reflected both his adventurous spirit and creative talents. He had a profound love for riding horses and fishing, activities that brought him closer to nature and peace. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, James enjoyed welding and camping, especially during his church’s annual camp meetings held in Seneca, Arizona. Music was another essential part of his life; he was a gifted multi-instrumentalist who played the drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard, using his musical gifts to enrich his community and worship experiences.
His unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his existence. James truly believed in the word of God, living his life with devotion and integrity. He often expressed his spirituality through music and service within his church family. His loved ones attested that he was promoted to heaven on March 15, 2026, a testament to a life lived with purpose and grace—"Job Well Done."
James was deeply cherished by his family. He is survived by his brother Ronald and sister Naomi, who provided lifelong companionship and support. His devoted children, Vanessa Gilbert (Ray), Candice Antonio (Tyrone), James Paul Antonio (Stephanie), and Mychal Paul Antonio, carry forward his legacy. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Kevin, Ian, Ellaina, and Hillarie, and a great-grandson, Elias, who all enriched his later years with joy and inspiration.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Hill-Antonio, whose memory he held close throughout his life.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate James’s life are scheduled for March 28, 2026, at the San Carlos Miracle Church in San Carlos, Arizona. The viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Family, friends, and community members will gather to pay their respects and commemorate a man whose life exemplified faith, love, and artistic expression.
James Phillip Antonio’s contributions to his family, church, and community remain indelible. His spirit continues to inspire those who knew him, and his legacy will endure through the many lives he touched.
