Obituary

Jonah Allen Corkish passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 50. Born on March 26, 1976, in Globe, Arizona, to Johnny and Rosalyn Corkish.

Jonah was a proud graduate of Globe High School, completing his studies in 1995. His years at Globe High were marked by notable achievements, including being part of the school’s state championship baseball team in 1995, a memory he cherished throughout his life. After high school, Jonah attended college for a few years, furthering his education before stepping into a professional life defined by both dedication and compassion.

Throughout his career, Jonah worked for the City of Globe and took pride in supporting his hometown. His path also led him to Crestline Steakhouse, where he developed his interest in cooking, an art he continued to practice with joy in his personal life. At Horizon Behavioral Health Center and Fresenius Medical Care in both Globe and San Carlos, Arizona, Jonah displayed profound empathy while working with those facing mental health challenges, offering kindness to the mentally ill and homeless. His service at Mt. Benson Cleaning and, later, at Stillwater Mine in Nye, Montana.

Jonah was an avid outdoorsman; he greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Music, especially Mexican instrumentals, provided him solace and joy, while his passion for religious art and antiques reflected his appreciation for culture and history. Friends and family recognized Jonah’s eye for decorating and distinctive sense of color schemes.

Family was always central to Jonah’s life. He is survived by his loving mother, Rosalyn Corkish, his devoted brother, Frank Corkish, and his caring sister, Wesley Anne Nosko. The lives of his five nieces and five nephews were brightened by his wit, warmth, and example. Jonah was predeceased by his father, Johnny Corkish, and his sister, Vanessa, whose memories remained close to his heart and whose spirits he carried with him through life’s journey.

Those who knew Jonah remember him for his generous spirit, gentle nature, and the genuine care he showed to all he encountered. Whether through a shared meal, support in a difficult time, or simply his attentive presence, Jonah left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
