Obituary

Manuel S. Rodriguez 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, and family on June 17,2026.

Born on January 1,1944, he was the son of Peter and Erlinda Rodriguez. He was born and raised in Miami, where he developed a lifelong love of baseball. As a young man, he spent countless hours on the ball field, building friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

A dedicated and hardworking man, he built a career as a boilermaker and welder, worked as a sheet metal professional and later became a skilled steel fabricator. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and commitment to providing for his family.

Family was the center of his life. After becoming a father to his girls, he devoted many years to coaching baseball, basketball and softball. The boys he coached brought him tremendous joy, and he cherished the opportunity to teach, encourage, and support them both on and off the field. He believed in teamwork, perseverance, and treating others with kindness and respect.

When asked what his greatest achievement was, he never spoke of his career or accomplishments. Instead, he would simply say, " My kids- all of them." His love, pride, and devotion to his children and family were evident in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Erlinda_ and his siblings, Francis, Michelle, Margret and Pete.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lucy, his daughters, Deborah, Angela, Sandra, and Deana. He also leaves behind 3 sons-in-law, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-granchildren and 1 great-great- granddaughter, along with many extended family members, friends, former players, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his generous, spicy spirit, his dedication to hard work, and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on through the many people he loved, coached, mentored, and inspired.

The family finds comfort in knowing that his life was well lived, his love was deeply felt, and his memory will forever be cherished.
