Obituary

Margaret Raneen Miller, 88, of Miami, Arizona, entered eternal rest peacefully on May 21, 2026, surrounded by her family. Raneen was born June 28, 1937, in Globe, AZ, to John Raymond “Ray” Copp and Fay Lois (Garrett) Copp. The family of four resided in Miami, where Raneen attended Miami schools and formed many lifelong friendships.

Raneen graduated from Miami High School in 1955, where she served as a Cheerleader and was crowned Homecoming Queen during her senior year. Following graduation, she attended Howell Dental Institute in Los Angeles, CA, where she successfully completed the Dental Assisting program on Feb. 2, 1956. Upon completing her studies, she returned to Miami and worked for a local Dentist.

On August 19, 1956, Raneen married her high school sweetheart, Gilbert Eugene “Gene” Miller, at the First Baptist Church in Miami, AZ. They shared more than 63 years of marriage before Gene’s passing in 2019. Their lifelong partnership was a testament to their unwavering commitment, love, forgiveness, patience, and faith in each other.

Together, Raneen and Gene raised their family in Miami. Family was the center of Raneen’s life, and she went above and beyond to provide for, protect, teach, discipline, and love unconditionally. She took immense pride in her ever-growing multi-generational family and treasured every moment spent with them.

A devoted Christian, Raneen’s faith carried her through life’s joys and challenges. She was also a cancer survivor whose strength and perseverance inspired those around her. For more than 20 years, she served as the School Secretary at Inspiration Addition School, where she genuinely loved and cared for the children who attended.

Raneen was a constant presence in the lives of her family. She traveled countless miles throughout Arizona and even California to attend sporting events, camps, dance recitals, concerts, graduations, and countless other milestones. She lovingly babysat her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always making them feel cherished and supported.

Her heart was devoted to her family, friends, and community. She never failed to greet others with a warm smile, offer encouragement, or lend a helping hand to someone in need. Raneen especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings in her home. The more people there were, the happier she was. Even when the house was bursting at the seams, there was never a hint of stress – only laughter, conversation, love, and treasured memories that will live on for generations. Above all else, Raneen’s greatest joy was being Mom and Grandma/Nana, titles she carried with endless love, pride, and devotion.

Raneen was proceeded in death by her husband, Gene Miller; her parents, Ray and Fay Copp; her brother John Copp; and her grandson, Shon Rogers. She is survived by her 4

children and their spouses – Mark (Dee), Jodi (Carl), Cali (Frank), Chad (Vielka), 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service, June 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lamont Mortuary of Globe, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami.

The family would like to thank Lamont Mortuary of Globe for their compassionate assistance and care.
