Mary (Phillips) Zeigler was born October 17, 1952, in Globe, Arizona to Tommy and Delores Phillips. She passed away April 7,2026 in Globe, Arizona. A Globe native through and through. She graduated from GHS class of 1970. She went on afterwards to study accounting at ASU and then later earned her degree in education from NAU. She worked at the GHS counseling office in the 80s and early 90s. She taught elementary school on the San Carlos Reservation in the 90s.
As a devout Christian- she mainly attended the Pentecostal Church of God. Mary not only taught Sunday school in the 80s, but she also formed a group called " NO Denominational Walls" in the 90s to break bread and share faith with other churches. She also helped found and served on the board for Gila Observatory. She was also affiliated with the Lions' Club.
An avid lover of cats-she rescued them often and she was most comforted by her beloved cat Tiffy in her last years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Victor Phillips and Gladys Delores (Glass) Phillips and her grandson Jonathon Holliday.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Zeigler of years; her children- John R. "Rob" Holliday and Elizabeth " Beth" (Gene) Holliday; grandchildren Kindra (Ceaserea) Holliday and Kristen (Joseph) Holliday; 3 great-grandchildren- Alayah, Derek, and Emmalee; brother Allen Phillips; Sister/cousin LaDonna Melcher; Sister-in-Law Kathy Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no public viewing services. Her celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
