Myles Howard Hodson, Jr. born on February 14th, 1947, and died peacefully at his home on May 16th, 2025, in Midland City, Arizona with his caretaker, Tatianna Jones by his side. Myles was not survived by any of his immediate family. However, Myles has many angels awaiting his return; Velma Gene Hodson (wife, Michelle Raylynn Hodson (daughter), Myles Howard Hodson, Sr. (father) Ida Hargett Hodson (mother), Ireeta Bush (sister), Crystal Lundgren (sister), Dora (Dodie) Taylor (sister), Tom Hundley, Sr. (brother) Virgil Hundley (brother) MacAurther Hundley (brother), Samuel Hodson (brother). Myles has many extended family and friends that help contribute to the joy and happiness of his life.
Myles was born and raised in Miami/Globe, Arizona. He attended Miami High School, was one credit short grom graduating and enlisted in the US Navy to help fight the war. Myles was proud to serve on the US Naval ship of USS Arnold J. Isbell from 1965-1967. He served two tours in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he worked various jobs and met the LOVE OF HIS LIFE, Velma Gene Beavers. They were married May 1, 1974. Shortly thereafter they welcomed their only child, Michelle, of whom brought much joy to Myles' life.
Myles was blinded in April 1969 in an accident with an explosive device. Myles blindness never stopped him from living and experiencing life to the fullest. Myles was passionate about learning and researching anything and everything which included genealogy, archeology, and everything about the history of Globe/Miami area.
Myles was very social and participated in many activities that included The Pencil Club Society, Ham radio operator, Weather association, was involved in radio talk shows and important information given to the Gila Valley Community. He was on the committee and donated artifacts to the Bullion Plaza. He dug up important artifacts at Besh-Ba-Gowah dig/Museum. He created his own Facebook group called Globe-Miami Mountain weather, where he informed on the weather and Community information and activities. He also, had put together the Hargett family page on Facebook as well, that allowed all the family to connect and share family history. His wife and Myles were collectors of many things like penciles, pens match books. They were artists who painted and made jewelry and other crafts that many loved and adored. He was a Volunteer at the Tonto/Roosevelt fire department as a dispatcher. He was an expert fisherman and lived much of his life at the Roosevelt estates, enjoying the nearby like with his wife. In the last two years of his life, he met another angel by the name of Tatianna J. Jones that cared, helped him, and become his best friend. He appreciated and adored her for being his eyes and ears, which allowed his to be active in the community.
