NATHAN EDWARD ELLISON, a beloved figure known for his dedication to his family and community, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Globe, Arizona. He was born on December 13, 1932, in Payson, Arizona, and lived his entire life on the ranch in Cherry Creek, where he left an indelible mark as a rancher, hunting guide, equipment operator, and sheriff's deputy.
Nathan was a man who thrived in the outdoors, embracing his hobbies and interests including hunting, fishing, and sharing stories around a warm fire. He was particularly fond of singing and playing the guitar, talents that brought joy to many. His passion for life and nature served as a testament to his character, and he cherished every moment spent in the great outdoors.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Nathan served his country with honor and loyalty, principles he carried throughout his life. He was not only a dedicated professional but also a friend to all who knew him. Those who crossed paths with Nathan often spoke of his kindness, generosity, and the warmth he extended to everyone.
He is survived by his loving children: Ed Ellison, Lynna (David) Deal, Alfred (Aimee) Ellison, and Bill (Caroline) Downing. Nathan was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Nathan is predeceased by his parents, Travis and Helen Ellison, his beloved wife, Louise Ellison, and his stepson, Ted Downing. Their memories remain cherished by all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Nathan Edward Ellison will be held on October 4, 2025, at the High Desert Middle School in Globe, Arizona. The service will begin at 11AM and conclude at 12 Noon.
Nathan will be deeply missed; his legacy of friendship, love, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
