Richard Dale
Brazell
Aug 15, 1941 — Jun 14, 2026
Richard Dale Brazell passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Globe, Arizona. Born on August 15, 1941, in McPherson, Kansas, Richard was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend whose life touched many.
Richard’s journey began in the heart of Kansas, where he graduated from McPherson High School and later attended Wichita Barber College. He came to Arizona in 1971 to work at Inspiration Copper Co. as a heavy-duty mechanic. Richard then ended up retiring from the Pinto Valley mine and he and his wife, Cherly went on to own the Past-Times Antiques for over 20 years.
Richard and Cherly directed the High Desert Humane Society for over 10 years. He often expressed that his years with High Desert Humane Society were some of the best. Richard was a faithful member of the Miami Church of Christ and was an example of self-less service.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl (Smith) Brazell, who stood by his side through all the joys and challenges they encountered together. He will be dearly missed by his son Kevin D. (Tish) Brazell, as well as his beloved daughter Laura Short. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Marlene) Brazell and 4 grandchildren Melissa, Mitchell, Margaret, and Noah.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the community's outpouring of support and love. As per Richard's wishes, there will be no public Memorial Service.
