Rick Martin Ortega of Globe, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Banner University Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born March 21, 1958, to Martin and Jeanette Ortega at Miami Inspiration Hospital, Miami, Arizona.
Rick worked in the valley as a window installer, drove haul trucks for the mine, and worked in production as well. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It" and could fix anything. Rick was a quiet man who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved going to the lake on his boat, water skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also had lots of fun floating down the Salt River and Gila River.
Rick loved his motorcycle and going on rides with his brother Mike, his sister-in-law Yvonne, and many, many friends known as "Biker Trash." He also loved taking care of all his kitty cats. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Rick is welcomed to heaven by his mother, Jeanette, and his brother, Bob Ortega. He is survived by his wife, Gia Ortega, father, Martin Ortega, daughter, Tiffany Ortega and grandsons, Telmo and James, brothers Mike (Yvonne) Ortega and Matt (Jennifer) Ortega, and his nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rick Ortega on Saturday, January 31st 2026 at 12pm at the American Legion, 645 S. Broad St, Globe, AZ.
