Rosie N. Valenzuela, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her family home on Thursday, March 19th. Rosie was born on August 2nd, 1938, to Guadalupe and Josephine Navarro. Rosie was born and raised in Globe, Arizona and grew up surrounded by her large family, she was the 5th oldest child and had 12 siblings.
Rosie was known as mom, grandma, Grandma Rosie, Momma Rosie, Rosa and Pee Wee to many of us. Rosie worked as a cook at the Busy Boy Café, the Snow Cap and, a custodian at the East Globe School. She retired from East Globe School and became a stay-at-home wife and mother. She loved drinking coffee, eating cookies, listening to the radio in morning, watching her Hallmark movies and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-great children. She loved all her babies. She loved her roses and would say, “if you give me roses give them to me now so I can enjoy them.” When someone stopped by to visit, she would always offer something to drink or eat. Everyone was always welcome in her home and felt welcome. As a mother she was generous, loving, kind and outspoken. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her 4 children: Tony, Mary Lou, Lydia, and Patricia, who adore and love her in their own special ways. Rosie had a special bond with all her grandchildren, especially with Jenny, Kayla, Ryan, Lukeas and Andrew, whom she raised.
“We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman, a beautiful mother, an amazing grandma, friend and sister.”
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Tony, son Danny, and daughter-in-Law Adela, infant son Sammy, parents Guadalupe and Josephine, sisters Angie and Carmen, brothers Manuel, Ignacio (Nancho), Lupe and Johnny. Rosie is survived by her 4 children, Tony Valenzuela, Mary Lou Valenzuela, Lydia (Frank) Steinke and Patricia Valenzuela, 11 grandchildren, 21 great children, 5 great-great children and many nieces and nephews.
