SANDRA JOYCE BAEZ

Sandra Joyce Baez, a beloved member of her family and an adored friend to many, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, on her 87th birthday. Born on December 29, 1938, in Shawano, Wisconsin, Sandra led a life rich with love and laughter, touching the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

An accomplished high school graduate, Sandra was not just defined by her education but also by her warmth and her passions. She had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in scenic drives through the Arizona Mountains with her devoted husband, Frank Baez. In addition to her love for nature, she found simple pleasures in watching the hummingbirds come to her feeders, a beautiful reflection of her appreciation for the little things in life.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Frank Baez; her daughter, Kimberly McGarvey, and her spouse, Jim; her son, Jaime Cotton; and her stepson, Conrad Baez. Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Kelly, Angela, Jimmy (spouse Laura), T.J. (spouse Kristina), Cyaleal, Cyalista, Cyalan, Aliyanna, Sebastian, and Jaylin. Additionally, she cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Kolter, Krew, Emmerson, Isabella, and Niccolai.

Sandra is also survived by her siblings, including her sisters, Barbara Baumgardt (spouse Arden) and Patricia Muchl, as well as her brothers, Michael Hackbart (spouse Linda) and Joel Hackbart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Clara Hackbart, her daughter, LuAnn Shepp, and her spouse, James Cotton.

Sandy lived for her kids. She loved being a grandma and great grandma. She would smile the whole time with them and would say how happy they made her feel. Her calm demeanor and gentle spirit drew them to her; they always wanted to sit with her and snuggle. She had a quiet way of making you feel safe and loved. and that is something we will all cherish and miss. Her love lives in all of us and all those who got to know and feel her loving way about her.
