Virginia Brown, born on March 20, 1932, in Clifton, AZ, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2025, in Globe, AZ. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Virginia embodied the meaning of family with every fiber of her being. Her legacy is a testament to the love and care she unceasingly provided to those around her.
Virginia was the definition of a true “Nana.” She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of hard work, faith, and devotion to family. For 40 years, she worked tirelessly as a laundry supervisor at Gila General Hospital, demonstrating an unparalleled work ethic that was matched only by her commitment to her family. Even after the long hours at work, Virginia found joy in cooking, gardening, and immersing herself in nature and the outdoors. Her rose bushes flourished under her care, just as her loving spirit nurtured her family.
A graduate of Clifton High School, Virginia carried with her the lessons learned from a strong Catholic upbringing. Her devotion to God was evident in her daily life, and she ensured that faith was a cornerstone in the lives of her beloved children and grandchildren. Virginia's soul delighted in simple pleasures, whether tending to her flowers or spending time conversing with her sisters about the latest episodes of her favorite TV novellas.
In addition to her remarkable life's work, Virginia cherished every moment spent with her family. She was adored by her husband Richard, who precedes her in death, and together they created a nurturing and loving household. Virginia's parents, Jesus and Sofia (Cisneros) Gonzales, and her brother Willie, also awaited her in eternal peace. Her two beloved sons, Edward and David, have left a legacy of resilience, and her vibrant spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire them.
As we celebrate Virginia's life, we honor her incredible journey with her surviving family members: her daughter Kathryn, her son Richard, 11 cherished grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and soul, and they will forever remember the powerful bonds built through unconditional love.
Virginia's visitation will be held on May 24, 2025, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe, AZ, followed by a Rosary and Mass in her honor. Though she has departed this world, her spirit will shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire generations to come.
